I've Been Brushing Up on My Web Design Skills Lately...

...and I can't exaggerate the simultaneous glee and cringe-iness I feel when I look at the first version of this site using the wayback machine:

I mean, just look at that monstrosity. So busy! So disorganized! From the headache-inducing colors to the over-filtered photos to the font, if there was a design rule, I broke it. I just want to muss my 2003 (awful) hair when I look at that site. I worked really hard on it, too!

As far as I can remember, yours is the first blog I had ever read, and, yup, that's what it looked like. Shit, that may have been the time I first read it. You've come a long way. I wonder if you'll look back at this entry in 4 years and be like "ewwwww".

My first blog from 2000 was pretty terrible...if I remember correctly, 2003's was pretty drab and boring (orange and grey...ew). Yes, you've come a long way :-)

I dunno, I kind of miss the days when everyone's site was raw and unpolished. Don't get me wrong, yr current design is a vast improvement, but the DIY web design aesthetic that permeated the Blogosphere circa 2K3 was part of its charm and appeal.
