* Flak Magazine's print book (which is REALLY good) is on sale for five bucks, including shipping! It includes an interview with Mo Rocca, cartoons by Achewood, and a lot more.
* My friend John Green's first book was just published, a literary young adult novel called Looking For Alaska. It's about a guy who's obsessed with famous last words (autobiographical - name a person and John can tell you his or her last words), and his adventures in a boarding school in Alabama. And it has sex in it! Entertainment Weekly wrote about racy Y/A novels in this week's issue. This is what they said about Looking For Alaska:
"In John Green's Looking For Alaska (Dutton, $15.99), for ages 14 and up, a teen guy who likes to memorize the last words of famous people attends boarding school in Alabama and falls for a girl named Alaska. Suggestive Content: Booze, porn, and a scene Green describes as "a very bad, very unentertaining [oral sex act]."
(The bracketed part is so Onion.)
