Crudo - Bar
Clinton between Rivington and Stanton.
Has a medium-sized area with benches in the back. I've never been there when there was anyone else there besides me and my friends (that's a good thing.)
1492 - Restaurant
Clinton between Rivington and Stanton
Haven't been there, but a friend said they have a nice patio. As of last night, it was still closed, though - they say it will open in 10 days.
Loreley - Bar
Rivington between Bowery and Chrystie
Has a beer garden in the back that is usually packed.
Miracle Grill - Restaurant
First Avenue between 7 and 8th Streets, next to McDonald's
Besides having my favorite brunch in Manhattan, Miracle Grill has a huge outdoor garden that's really pretty, and seating is usually readily available.
One Nine One - Restaurant
Ludlow between Houston and Stanton
Used to be Cafe Lika - has large nice garden with tacky fountain. Be warned, though -they take FOREVER to bring you your drinks. Last Wednesday night we waited half an hour for a round, after asking both owners repeatedly - and the place was empty.
This is obviously a very partial list - if anyone has more suggestions, email me with "LES patio bars" in the subject line.
