The first episode follows a once-wealthy, now homeless coke addict and a once-brilliant, now-stealing-morphine-from-her-dying-father heroin addict. Parts of the show are not believable, as when the coke addict shoplifts from a store and "sneaks" into a hotel for the breakfast buffet, all with a full camera crew in tow, and the intervention scenes were oddly undramatic (both addicts seemed relieved to be going into treatment). Also, in one scene, the heroin addict's father is shown in bed with his oxygen tubes on -- and a box of Cialis clearly next to him on the bedside table.
In the preview of the next episode, we see a black screen and the audio of someone screaming and sobbing with a calm, firm voice saying "You have a serious addiction......and it's compulsive shopping" (more sobs.) I rewound that and played it again four times.
(This has nothing to do with the show, but I always thought that a fake intervention would be the best practical joke ever.)
