My friends Betsey and Natalka just opened a new bar where Plant Bar used to be, on 3rd between B and C. It's called The Hanger, because they sell vintage clothes there as well. Betsey and Natalka worked their asses off fixing up the place, knocking down walls and wallpapering and staining the bar themselves. And don't even get me started on the jukebox - any jukebox that includes In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is an inanimate object friend of mine. And they sell pitchers of cocktails for $12 and "Staten Island Iced Tea" (Lipton and vodka) for $3. I went there for the first time last night and I can honestly say that even if I just walked in there randomly, it would still be my new hangout.
